Strawberry Decorated Pearlware Teapot, c. 1820

This strawberry decorated Pearlware Teapot dates. c.1820. It has molded strawberry and leave decoration around the body and neck of the teapot, and bold incised bands around the shoulder of the pot, just above the foot, on the spout and around the lid. The handle has a wonderful shape, and the spout has blue highlights. The teapot is about 5 ½” to the top of the finial and handle to spout measurement is about 9 ¼”. Strong pearlware glaze, it is in very fine condition with only minor blemishes: there is a small chip on the right side of the spout, a small chip and some nibbles on the edge of the lid and the knob on the lid has been reattached. The molded strawberry and leaf decoration is very strong, as are the colors.
