Exceptional 48-page Victorian picture scrap book

Affixed to the 48 pages of this Marcus Ward & Co. “picture scrap book with decorated pages showing the best manner of arrangement” from the 1870s, are approximately 285 holiday greeting cards (extraordinary pieces by Tuck, Marcus Ward, Aubrey, Thomas De La Rue etc) and die cuts, beautifully laid out. While the binding has worn loose from wear, and there are a couple of loose pages, it appears there are just four cards missing from the original completed scrapbook. We noted just one card with a name and date, an 1879 Christmas card of a Mr. & Mrs. Ambrose of Westover, West Heath, Hampstead (suburban London).
