This oversized Mahal 10'4" 13'9" was woven in Persia circa 1900. It has a wonderful open gold/tan field accented with rust and a soft aubergine & grey blue in the border. This rug shows it's age and does have some wear here and there as seen in the photos. (I took a lot of pictures, including one inside). Despite some low pile, the rug is definitely sturdy enough for regular floor use and it's open design and light airy color palette lends itself to a variety of settings. A classic old rug.

SPECIAL NOTE: I can only be reached by email, as I'm currently travelling.I have been collecting old Oriental Rugs since 1981, and have been in business since the early 1990's, selling to the public and to the trade out of my home in Walpole NH. I have no open shop, but do exhibit at a handful of Antique Shows throughout the year.
I am not your "big box store" of oriental rugs, but keep approximately 120-140 rugs at any given time, and as an active picker my inventory changes constantly. I have small and large scatters, runners and roomsize carpets available, as well as some very small weavings suitable for table tops. All rugs have been washed prior to being offered for sale. This show offers a sampling of some of my pieces. If there is a particular size you can use, please don't hesitate to contact me. I might have it!
There are absolutely no contemporary rugs.
