Barbara Herbert, Countess of Pembroke (c. 1668 – August 1, 1721), was an English court official and aristocrat, known as the second wife of Thomas Herbert, 8th Earl of Pembroke. She held the position of Lady of the Bedchamber for Princess Caroline of the Royal House of Hohenzollern. Born to Sir Thomas Slingsby, 2nd Baronet, and Dorothy Cradock, Barbara had two brothers: Sir Henry Slingsby, 3rd Baronet (c. 1660-1691), and Sir Thomas Slingsby, 4th Baronet (c. 1668-1726). Throughout her life, Barbara was married three times. Her first husband was Sir Richard Mauleverer, 4th Baronet of Allerton Mauleverer, who passed away in 1689. She then married her second husband, John Arundell, 2nd Baron Arundell of Trerice (1649–1698), of Trerice, Cornwall, on February 14, 1692/93. As Lady Arundell, she bore a son, Hon. Richard Arundell (1698-1759), who later held various positions, including MP for Knaresborough, Clerk of the Pipe, Surveyor of the Works, and Master of the Mint. Her third marriage took place on September 21, 1708, in London, to the Earl of Pembroke. The earl and countess had a daughter, Lady Barbara Herbert (died December 27, 1752), who married William Dudley North on October 3, 1730. In 1718, Barbara assumed the role of Lady of the Bedchamber to Princess Caroline of Ansbach, maintaining this position until her death three years later in 1721.
