Ettore Tito (17 December 1859 – 26 June 1941) was an Italian painter known for his significant contributions to the Venetian school of painting. Born in Castellammare di Stabia, near Naples, Tito displayed an early passion for art. He received formal training at the Naples Academy of Fine Arts before moving to Venice, where he became an integral part of the city's vibrant artistic community. Tito's art is deeply rooted in the traditions of the Venetian school, drawing inspiration from masters such as Titian and Tintoretto. His works, often characterized by a harmonious use of color and a skillful portrayal of light, captured the essence of everyday life in Venice. Tito gained recognition for his portraiture and genre scenes, exhibiting at major art events like the Venice Biennale. Throughout his career, Tito achieved international acclaim, exhibiting in cities such as Paris and Munich. His commitment to the Venetian artistic tradition and his ability to evoke the luminosity and atmosphere of the city contributed to his prominence in the Italian art scene. Tito's paintings are housed in various collections, including the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Venice. Ettore Tito continued to paint throughout his life, maintaining studios in both Venice and Rome. He passed away on 26 June 1941 in Venice, leaving behind a legacy of work that remains celebrated for its beauty and its connection to the rich artistic heritage of the Venetian school.
