A beautiful and elegant Bidjar 4'10" x 7'5" woven by the Kurds in NW Persia circa 1890. Bidjars are known as the "iron rug of Persia" because of their durable construction/weave and this one has plenty of life left despite it's advanced age! Finely woven with an intricate Herati design, this rug is an excellent example of the type. The light blue scattered throughout is exceptional.
