Antique Hand Carved Wood Shaker Grain Shovel

Note:  Carved with simple hand tools from a single piece of wood, this shovel was made to be used in a Shaker barn or granary.
Because granaries were full of very fine natural dust in the air, easily ignited  by a simple spark , iron tools that could cause sparks when  in contact with nail heads in barn floors were avoided.
Such object are highly collectible today for their artistic beauty and symbolic value.
