Rudolph Colao, American, 1927-2014
Rudy’s artistic acumen was exemplified in his still life paintings. This painting with its rich and deep palette is
a truly beautiful example of his best work.
Rudy Colao set out to be an artist after several years in the service of his country. He received a scholarship to the Art Students League in New York City where he later became a teacher. He taught at the Art Students' League of New York, and The Scottsdale Artists School in Arizona.
Rudolph Colao was a member of Allied Artists of America, Artists Equity Association of New York, Hudson Valley Art Association, Knickerbocker Artists of New York, and Rockport Art Association.
Colao traveled widely, painting in New York, New England and throughout the west. His paintings have won major awards including the Grand Prize over 1000 artists in the Washington Square Art Exhibition, 1960 in NYC., and the Rockport Art Assoc., MA.
Colao is listed in “Who’s Who in American Art.
As an artist, he is primarily known for his still life paintings and interior scenes.
