Oval pantry box with nice patina, circa 1880s to 1890s. The pantry box is oval in shape and seems to have a pine top and bottom with perhaps bands made from birch. The ends of the bands and sides are fastened with clench nails, and the top and bottom are held in by wooden pegs. This seems to be a later pantry box, probably from the 1880s or 1890s. The top and bottom have a very nice light patina. There is a bit of loss to the bottom edge of the band on the top, on the backside. That little piece has been missing for a long time—note the shadow on the bottom part. The little pantry box measures just over 4 ½” long and 3” wide and stands a little under 2 ¼” tall. It is in good or better condition with light wear and soiling consistent with age and use. The only flaw is the missing bit of the top band. A nice little pantry box!
